The murders and torture of innocent baby seals are still happening as I type this. However, voices of opposition and support for the seals are being heard. The newest "Live From The Ice" update posted on the US Humane Society website describes horrific scenes of violence but also provides some encouragement. It appears that the fur trade industry is tumbling. Prices of seal fur have dropped to only fifteen dollars. In addition, Russia still has a ban on baby seal hunting and the Canadian seal fur industry is getting so desperate that they are trying to drum up support by the EU. So far, based on my googling, it appears that there is more support for the seals.
This proves that everyone has a voice. If you are unable to physically stand beside those who brave the elements and nightmarish scenes to report the news of this tragic event, than you can support them by letting your thoughts and views be known. We are the voices for the baby seals whose only weakness is their innocence and trustworthy nature. The only sounds they make is when they are dying. But we can help by not giving up and educating as many people as we can. Let us not allow these beautiful animals deaths to be in vain.
