Today I was walking across the Walgreen's parking lot when I heard the all familiar cry of a red tail hawk. I looked around and saw nothing. I was just about ready to clamber into my car when I heard its cry again. This time I looked straight up above my head and there it was; with all its splendor and grace soaring up above. I looked around and tried to get the attention of others walking around, but no one took notice. They all went about their business unaware of Mother Nature's gift flying majestically in the sky. It took only a moment of time to witness this splendor, but no one bothered. Why?
I understand people have a lot to do and much on their minds especially with the state of the economy among other things. But it was only a moment. If more people took notice of the beauty of nature around them, and then passed this information on to their children and kin, then maybe...just maybe...people would litter less and care more because they would have more respect and a heightened sense of awareness for the life around them.
wow, what a sight that must have been; and I agree whole-heartedly with you. So few people notice what nature offers us, and it is a shame.
