Logging activities is set to halt immediately in about 13 million hectares of rain forest located in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This action comes as a result from an analysis conducted by the government to help weed out corruption and strengthen the use of environmental guidelines. The Congo is home to the second largest rain forest on Earth; coming behind the Amazon. I was extremely happy about this development. Considering the numerous corruption and violence associated with this part of the world, it is great to hear that people do exist that acknowledges the need to start actively protecting such an endangered ecosystem.
