Giant meat eating plant discovered in Philippines

In an expedition to the central Philippines, scientists discovered a new and perhaps the largest specie of pitcher plant (a meat eating plant). The plant was named Nepenthes attenboroughii after Sir David Attenborough. Findings were published in the Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society. The plant was observed devouring insects and rats which traps its pray before consuming it using acids. For more information, following this link "BBC-Earth News".

Sorry, I do not have a picture to include because I am a rat lover, having had three as pets. However, this is a unique find.
